Weird problem, when I want to see the hover message (when i point to something on the taskbar), it's usually covered by the taskbar itself. It's annoying, since i have to open something just to see the status of something.

I've attached a picture to demonstrate my problem.

How do i fix this?
I'm on Win XP SP2

See if changing the taskbar settings makes a difference

Start ... Settings... Taskbar & Start Menu
On the Taskbar Tab.. check or uncheck "Keep the taskbar on top" then apply

That worked ...but i don't want windows covering my start menu when i maximize them ... windows is weird.

and my resolution is already at max: 1280x1024

Windows user interface bug... known to occur in previous versions.

Try changing the visual style to Windows XP style apply and then go back and
re-apply the Windows Classic style.

I had that same problem about a year ago and that's what ended up working for me as well.

Yep, whenever that happens all you have to do is change it and change it back... or sometimes just unlocking and relocking the task bar will cure it too...

It is an odd bug... and always hits at the worst time too... :hsh:
