Well new to me, a neighbour could keep them so i got them. Anyone else own a pair of these creatures? i've searched about.com and got some dietary need and such but personal experiences always help to.

I also have a budgie and wonder whats the best way to integrate them to a more friendly state? i have attached pictures of them cause they are way to cute.

I will have to ask my gf - she has a peach faced love bird as well...
Tho my gf’s bird is solo – he seems to do okay by himself. She did try him with a female, but it didn’t work out – the female gave him a beating and lost a lot of his feathers. He still has a problem with his feathers – and she’s not really sure what’s going on with him? – maybe its just age – I think she told me that he was over 9 years old?

ive read they have an average lifespan of 15+ years. They are very social birds but can do fine on their own as long as the owner gives it lots of attention. Females are more agrressive jealous and teritorial. so far from what i see my two cannot be separated

Very pretty birds Nave

When I was a kid we had a couple of birds similar to those, we let them fly around during the day and they were no problem, would sit with us at the dinner table and share mashed potatoes lol .. very friendly and social birds

I used to have peachys a long time ago. I would definitely not put the budgie in with them, they can be very territorial. They have quite a bite too if you annoy them. Your two are probably like an old married couple, leave them together.

progres looks good. Only their second full day in the house but they seem a little more relaxed. My Budgie i let out of the cage during the day, but i can't yet do that for the lovebirds as they still dont realise their wings were clipped LOL...
Anyways the Budgie has now taken to the habbit of teasing the lovebirds (this little bird has kahones) its kind of fun to watch but to keep things fair i've shoo'd him away because i want a respect between them as the budgie wont be able to be a dominant figure. (as a side note they all now have names : the budgie is Mats (go leaves), the male lovebird is Wolf, and the female is Luna)
i visited the pet store and picked up some vitamins suppliment for their water as they have grown on to seed diets, and some cuttle bone and a few toys... spoilt buggers.
Hand training is going well.... not so well for my hand but the birds have stopped biting hard. I read another website that stated lovebirds have the intelligence of about a 3-4 year old so tone of voice and physical actions do work in the training process. of course clipping their wings also helps establish whos boss and calmed them down a lot. they're gonna have faith in me one way or another. Still they need some help with getting out of the cage and on to my finger, hopefully with more attention and practise they will get it down.
these birds are the closest i will be getting to parrots so im still kind of excited.
