Saw it Saturday afternoon. Reviews I had read were mixed. When i originally saw the trailer, I wanted to see it. I was never a big fan of his music, but his life story is an interesting one.
The movie itself i enjoyed. as did the lady with me. A little suprised at Jaoquin Phoenix singing ability, never knew he had any, as with Reese Witherspoon as June Carter. They both did well during the concert shots. I just didn't think she was the right choice to play her however. Was a great story, Phoenix played him very well. They sort of glossed over his jail time & busts, showing him busted once & in a cell for about 30 seconds. The 2 hours flew by. I think when the DVD comes out I'm definetly going to pick it up. Large crowd in the theatre for a 3pm show, mostly older folks, 40 years +.
