Backing up HD

Has anyone tried to backup the hard drive with Nero 6 ?

It claimes to do a Full Backup, but would that include the O/S? WinMe.

Total Backup from a reformatted drive? the Manual isn't too clear on this point.
I just want to make sure before I try-it, of course to test it out I would have to reformat the drive. I'm not ready for that, having just done it.

it will make an image of your HD. Now if it will include OS with it that I dont know. I know it will copy all ur files and folders and cookies so on.

In Nero Back-it-up there's 2 different types of backup... 'Backup' and 'Drive Backup'
Drive Backup is a complete image of your drive.

Now, I've never tried it myself, but from what they say you should be able to make an image and restore it on another drive.

I suppose I'm really in the position where I will have to wait until I do another Format before I will know for sure. This was one of the main reasons why I upgraded to ver.6,
unless of course I find someone that has actually used it.
I usually do a reformat once a year and have done it twice once, so I will try to remember to post the results next time.

Never do that as you may lose all your data. Be absolutely sure before you try it. Never experiment with critical stuff of which you're not absolutely sure about the outcome.

Thanks for the handy tip Jovin. But I have made several backups already 'Just-in-case' and the 'Nero Data backup' will do the job also, so I could try the 'Nero HD Backup' first
Then we will all know.
