Did you get it recently? I was looking for one back in May and it seemed they were no longer available. I settled for a Powershot A510.

I did, but I didn't get it new. I got it off a member her and at RFD for a great price.

The A510 is a great camera as well, but I like the features of A75 better.

Here's one I just took this morning. The lighting could be better on the bee though. :(

great shots Hurk.
I keep forgetting you live in my town:)

on the bee pic if you bring that shot in to a photo or paint
program and select the bee you can brighten it up.

Nice. That does look better. I think I have Photoshop installed, I might play with it soon. I just like taking random pictures of things.

BTW: London is awesome for taking pictures :)

yes it sure is.

I used paint shop pro 7 and the hand selection tool.
I first selected the bee then adjusted the contras.
them adjusted the color saturation (higher).

then I selected the bright side of the flower and adjusted
the contras to better match the dark side.

one thing I have found don't over work the picture.
leave some of the error in place it looks more natural
that way.

I agree. From what I read the A510 isn't as good as the A75 when it comes to things like red eye reduction and low light focussing. I can't complain with what I have though as I am still learning the fundamentals of photography and
Canon cameras are known for the quality of their images.

I like the night shot... did you have to edit or manipulate the camera to get that effect? My digital cam sucks when it comes to night shots...

The night shot is simply a longer exposure shot.

If your camera has manual settings, you should be able to do the same effect.

No!!! Really??? You can do that?
We know that... it's the settings that he used that we'd like to know... ;)

The setting I used was.. (excuse the lack of technical term) I set it to Tv and put it to 15" (I'm still reading the manual to see what exactly that does). That set's the exposure to long enough to see the single cars as cool lights :)

thanks Mr. sarcasm ;)

There isn't a simpler explanation, its just a longer exposure.

If it was just that simple, several of us wouldn't be asking Hurk what setting he used.
It's not too easy to get good detail without having the lights washed out... ;)
