I notice that when you click to download a file and it asks you whether to save it or just run it that the run option has a drmatically lower down rate. Just wondering why that is and if there is anything I can do to speed it up. It's really not abig deal since I can just delete the file after downloading.

From a security point of view, you should always download the file first, then run your anti-virus and spyware scanners against it. As this appears to be the quicker option for you - all the better.

when you open and run it does a check that you got the last package then forwards the next one .. it does this all the time hence the slow down.

neil01 has a very good point.
But some M$ downloads want you to open run.

I always try to save then run locally. Want a copy of the file for backup in case of a required reinstall.
