Hey guys,
I would like to know how to make DVD Video-CD. I know how to make one using tmpgenc and then use Nero and choose Video-CD and burn it on a CD-R. But what about I want to make a VCD and put it on my DVD-R disc. I wanted to put several movies into 1 DVD and make a menu and have pictures. so lets say i put spiderman 1 and spiderman 2 into 1 DVD. I would make a menu at the begining and let me choose if I wanna choose sp1 or sp2. or add a 3rd movie. Like all die hard movies on 1 DVD.
Did i make my self clear?
Thanks

Don't think that will work. Try www.doom9.org or www.dvdrhelp.com and do a search there about.

darn! no help there...is there any program that will even let me add like 3 avi's and then make a menu/title with a picture so I can go to the menu and click on the picture and that will jump to that movie, sort of chapters.
Thanks

Nero vision does it.
Its not the fastest one but hardly the slowest and does all that you want.

yeah but isn't it going to be DVD quality, using more space?
Maybe I missunderstud or going after the wrong thing. I tried before making a DVD with lots of VCD quality files but it didn't work since it got way to big once the conversion was done??

I can make a single avi movie and add chapters to it! its a piece of cake. But what about 2-3 movies on 1 DVD? can I join them together and then make a menu or what?
Thanks

It's probably going to be allot of work, but I'd be doing it in NeroVision Express too...
Once you have the files ripped to HDD, just put the 2 or 3 files in there... it'll tell you it's too big and ask if you want to reduce it's quality... just click 'yes'.
If it can compress them enough, it'll continue; if not, it'll say it can't continue.
Once past that point you can add menus / chapters / etc.

That should work.
If its Two 2 hour movies nero will set the rate to long play.
The quality will be poor but watchable. Also it may have a compatibility problems with some players.

Hello All,
I am completely new to this world, i just recently purchased a new video card which allows me to hook cable up to my computer therefore I recorded a couple of kids Xmas Specials for my daughter. Then I purchased a dvd burner, so am I am to put these files onto a dvd and how do I go about it? What format do I need them in (avi/mpg/wma?) and when I burn it to the dvd will it be decent quality or poor quality?

Hello Styles.
fist off it would have been better if you had started your own thread.
with that said.....
The format would be to create a dvd.
Nero vision express works well for that.
Most dvd players will play a raw mpg as well.
The quality will depend on the source ( the show itself)
and on the capability's and setting of the capture card.
