What were you doing 25 years ago today when you heard the news?

I was 29, it was late at night and I was watching the News and thinking about Christmas presents I needed to buy and suddenly I felt a lot older and sadder. The lyrics to "In my Life" seemed much more poignant from that moment on.

In my life - Beatles

There are places I'll remember all my life
Though some have changed
Some forever not for better
Some have gone and some remain

All these places had their moments
With lovers and friends I still can recall
Some are dead and some are living
In my life I've loved them all

But of all these friends and lovers
There is no one compares with you
And these mem'ries lose their meaning
When I think of love as something new

Though I know I'll never lose affection
For people and things that went before
I know I'll often stop and think about them
In my life I'll love you more

Though I know I'll never lose affection
For people and things that went before
I know I'll often stop and think about them
In my life I'll love you more
In my life I'll love you more

"IMAGINE" what it would be like if we "GIVE PEACE A CHANCE"

I was around 10 years old at the time and truly don't remember hearing about this but I feel the impact of it now that I'm older, Q107 is playing nothing but John Lennon today so anyone wants to hear some good music then tune in

RIP John

I was 32 at the time, and remember the event well. Shows you how precious life can be. A peaceful activist for peace, a famed musician who helped change the face of popular music as we know it, and his reward for notoriety was being killed by a deranged person. It was a sad time.

I've mentioned this before, but if aliens are watching us I am sure they are saying "they are not ready yet".

I was 15 when John passed away. I remember walking into the cafeteria at school and was wondering why Q107 was playing all these Beatles tunes. Then they came on the air and announced that Lennon died the night before. I was shocked and dumbfounded.

He was my favourite Beatle and his simple vision of love and world peace has inspired many. They brought up a very good point today of what John would think of music today, technology, and the new fear of terrorism we live in. I've always wondered how different things like Live Aid would have been like if he were alive when it happened.

R.I.P. John. The world has not forgotten you...

I was watching the football game that night when Howard Cossell announced it.

Dave and I went to Club 279 at the Hard Rock and signed the book of condolence that's being sent to Yoko Ono .. they had some films on the big screen, candles and buttons which you could put on your coat (I now have one), everyone was very quiet and just watching the screen like it happened yesterday
