OK, I get the typical email scams like everyone else, emails supposedly from Paypal or eBay asking for my info to fix my account, emails from somebody in Africa asking that I help transfer a dead persons money into my bank and I'll make 100's of thousands of dollars, and I get the bogus lottery with id PIN # attached to my email of 3664td88r44 etc etc etc etc.

I put these emails into my scam folder. I do not know what I will do with those, but there is one email I get more than any other and it is killing me. This is the link that is in the email:

(If you go here, perhaps do so with you referer logging and cookies turned off, if that may help, or do not go at all. I am not aware of a website that can hack you and sniff your email address, but who knows):

h t tp : // to vark asoft .c om

The emails look like this:

And there are some graphics.....anyhow...

I constantly get emails from this place, and they are twisted. They are addressed from individuals from all over the place, some have even been addressed from people I know. What kind of crap is this? I cannot filter them because they have my address but they change their address all the time! Is there anything I can do? I am currently going through all the forums I have ever been on and deleting my email address from all of my posts, and I may resort to changing my email address, but is there anything else I can do before having to get a new email address? Do I also need to remove my email from my forum profiles?

thanx for any help,

:)

I just use E-Prompter to check all my mail accounts continually... when I see something like that I just check it off to be deleted right from the server... before I ever even D/L my mail.

It's a great lil app that lets me know when I have mail so I don't have to keep going to my inbox and checking all the time... especially since a have a few different ones to check ;)

Use MailWasher (http://www.mailwasher.net)

Like any filtering software it takes a bit of time to train, but very very effective. I use the Pro version to filter approx. 35 email accounts that I have.

It previews the email on the server side, lets you approve or accept. Eventually it becomes trained to recognize a lot of this crap you mention and you never see it.

Ok, so how can I do the filter if the email addresses are always different? I could try some subject line thing, but that always changes too. I don't want to risk affecting my legit email either.

thanx

:)

With the Rogers' email account, you can go to the home page and set it up to display your emails, ( Just the header ) then you can scroll through them and select the junk mail and designate it as SPAM. Then as you teach the program it can delete the junkmail from the real mail.
The best part is that you seldom download any spam after it knows which is which.

The only difficulty is the mail from people you know, that can be a bit more difficult to filter unless you setup certain key words for it to check before leaving it or deleting it .

I will look into that.
