Is it possible to have a wireless and wired internet connection at home?

I have a laptop and like to move around the house with it....

I was thinking have the main cat 5 cable from the modem going into the wired router, then another cat 5 from the wired router to the wireless router.

Would that work?

Any other ideas on how to do this?

P/s what's a relatively cheap wireless router and how much do the cards(PCI) and laptop sell for?

Thanks

Sure is possible, just get yourself a cheap wireless router, I have a Dlink D514 now an oldie. Follow the instructions to connect.
My system is connected through the router via the wires from the modem to the router then on to the main PC.
Go to your setup page/website and set up to instructions. For your wireless, setup the security WEP settings so you don't become an internet hot spot for your neigbours to use your connection.
My laptop came with the built in wireless card/antenna so it was easy to setup.

As far as I know, all Wireless routers have at least 4 wired connectors on the back.
You can use a wireless router to do exactly what you want.
