It's Hazel Eyes (tried retrieving my pass, the email isn't showing in my inbox, so I'm logging into my mothers).

Anyway, For whatever reason unknown to me, I was no longer able to "right click" on my desktop. When I did, it would cause my task bar and all my desktop items to DISAPEAR and then REAPEAR.

Double clicking on AVG to try and perform a full system scan, because I was so very worried that I may have encountered a virus or something else. Anyway, it wouldn't open!!

The hour glass showed, as if it attempted to load it, and then nothing!!

So, fed up. I uninstalled AVG.

The next day I returned to download.com to install the latest updated version of AVG, and everything seemed well and good, until this message came up:

Local machine: installation failed
Installation:
Error: Action failed for file avgamsvr.exe: starting service....
The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion. (1053)

How can I fix this problem?
I really need to install AVG. I am running with no virus prevention software what so ever, and I don't know what to do!!

Please help!

If alternatives required,

avast! 4 Home Edition (http://www.avast.com/eng/avast_4_home.html)
AntiVir (http://www.free-av.com/)

I checked out that link.

There is no option to 'repair' anything. You only have option to install it.
And I keep getting the same error, after it starts to delete dll files during installation, it says: Local machine: installation failed
Installation:
Error: Action failed for file avgamsvr.exe: starting service....
The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion. (1053)

Their forum isn't much help either.

There's no visible reason why it would just cease to work, and never install again. This is very frustrating. :( :rrg: :hys:
