I think you can, Les, but I think it will only do a sector by sector raw disk copy, so it would be the exact size of the old one, including free space, so if the new drive is larger, you would be left with unallocated space.

I have been reading into that one myself and depending on the version
of ghost you have Sybil is correct. info found here
http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/ghost.nsf/docid/1999021909463125?Open&src=&docid=2000033111503625&nsf=ghost.nsf&view=docid&dtype=&prod=&ver=&osv=&osv_lvl=
Edit:
Sorry to barge in with a question here Les....
Sybil I know you have used another image program.
for the life of me I can't remember the name but
will it work better for the setup Les has?

I use Acronis TrueImage. I think it's sort of the same situation. It supports linux, the program itself runs from Windows and you use the bootable cd for other filesystems. It will also image an unsupported filesystem, but at the raw disk level. There is an Enterprise Server edition that may do more - haven't checked yet. It may be a bit easier to use than Ghost, though.
