Hi everyone
I have a strange problem that I can't seem to solve.
If I try to rename a folder or a file in windows explorer Windows says it has encontered a problem and must shut down. After you say either send or don't send another window pops up and says Dr Watson Postmortem DeBugger has encountered a problem and must shut down. After you say send or don't send it seems to freeze up and you need to go to task manager to shut down the program manualy.
All this began when I deleted all the files out of my Norton 2005 Quarantine folder. I assume I must of deleted a file in the quarentine folder that I shouldn't have but have no idea what it could be.
I reloaded Norton but have the same problem.
Any ideas???
At my wits end

Do you have Webroot's Spy Sweeper installed on your computer?

I know it's a long shot but the problem you are describing has been associated with that program so if you do have it installed I would suggest uninstalling it to see if that helps..if not..well, I'm not sure what it could be.

I'm not sure about this...but can't you just put your windows disc in and reload windows over top...that way you won't lose anything you have and anything you accidently deleted will be returned ?

Click 'Start' > 'run' > and type in " sfc /scannow "
It will ask for your XP CD

This will restore your critical system files... Hopefully it'll cover whatever you're missing.
