Inside lines have been replaced with cat 5 and polarity has been checked in all phone jacks.

Tested at the demarc itself and the same thing happens with the jumping snr (sometimes zeroing out).

Modem is ruled out also as i have both the 5200 and 6520 which both show the same problem.

The tx/fec errors only happen if the phone rings (think it hates the sprint phone noncordless)

Even have gone so far as to rule out the demarc itself as the cause of the snr bounce.

Other then the snr all else seems fine with the line.

Any ideas?

Holy sh*t.

Called bell sympatico and got a first level tech who knew something (time to play the 649 i think).

He checked the line and everything was fine except the signal which was all over the place and first think he does it transfers it to sec level.

Sec level call the network office and they take a look after about 10 min there back on and the problem has been found a defective slam.

So in a day or two its going to be replaced and it should be back to normal again.

The whole thing was so easy it was scary, how often does this happen.

You do get the service that you're supposed to once in a while... happens with Rogers too ;)

Now if only ALL the CSR's knew what they're talking about... then we'd all get that kind of service... every time. :tti:
