I recently got this game and would like to hear from anyone else who plays it.

I just don't understand what there is to enjoy about this game. I may not have spent enough time with it. I've spent about 50 hours. But I just don't get it.

This is the first RTS I've ever tried and I kind of get the feeling that I wouldn't like any of them. It's like being in charge of some big computer program simulation where you change certain input factors and watch as the society adjusts itself to match your changes. But where's the fun?

Heh heh. I'm enjoying the review at ign.com. Here are some of their comments and some of my follow-ups.

"Any one who's played a PC game in the last ten years is likely to find the extended tutorial a bit obnoxious. After learning how to move the camera to the left, for instance, the game will take the time to explain how to move the camera to the right."

That was only part of the obnoxious factor for me. The extremely obnoxious thing is that the huge (far too huge and mandatory) tutorial is all done with British accents. It would have been so much kinder if they let us choose a few accents. The British accents are condescending and creepy.

Just as boring as the first game, not to mention horrible performance.

There's plenty of other RTS out there that aren't really like B&W. I'm not a really big fan of the genre, but anything from Blizzard is good.

if the game is anything like the first one the fun is in playing god,and doing whatever you want(like burning stuff).I think that the first on was fun at least, and in the first one the tutorial is over extended to"good, now try moving backwards".

also yu shouldn't judge all rts's by this game.it's nothing atall like most other rts's.

I didnt like the first game but a friend of mine loved it. I wont bother with the second. I prefer games like age of empires. in fact that series is pretty much the only RTS games i like.
