My DFI motherboard has always had a 0.2v under volt problem regardless of the bios version from the manufacturer.

I read that the problem could be resolved by removing one resistor. Unfortunately I had a bad bios flash which killed my board before I could give the mod a try.

I just got my replacement bios chip from a guy in the States and fired up my system after performing the fix with a seam ripper.

I used the seam ripper to pop the resistor off. It took very little effort...

Below are some before and after pics.

Yes I had the same problem with under volting..
I did not know you had a bad flash buddy..
anyway glad you got it back up runnnig..again..
I have since sold my board and now have a A8N32...and a X2 3800 :)

What are the biggest benefits you notice with dual core??
I was reading up on these dual core and the 3800's clock like champs..I hope

i think the x2's all clock like champs.... i was able to get my x2 4400+ from 2.2 - 2.4 just by increasing the fsb running stable

I really noticed the performance increase when doing media encoding like converting DivX to DVD files... the X2 smokes.

For Gaming I haven't notice much improvement however the latest Nvidia and ATI video drivers do take advantage of dual core CPU's so there is a slight advantage there.

Intel recently stated that the following games take advanatage of dual core cpu's, Call of Duty 2, City of Villains, F.E.A.R., World of Warcraft, Age of Empires III, Black & White 2, Peter Jackson’s King Kong, The Movies, Battlefield 2, Battlefield 2: Special Forces, Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Advanced, Warfighter, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six 3, Tony Hawk’s American Wasteland.

So if the above games play well on a dual core Intel chip ya can imagine the advantage with your new X2.

As far a overclocking goes, you should be able to exceed my chips 10x260 speed as your chip will be a new stepping.

I agree, I've been doing a lot of video editing and encoding with my x2 rig, and i must say, the time difference is phenomenal... Now if only I had more hard drive space!!! :) Hey Jamie, have you OC'd those 7800 GT's yet, and if so, how high have you clocked them stable???

i heard the new fx60 is dualcore with multiplier unlock questoin is how good will the voltaging be with that processor. maybe i'll switch from x2 4400+ to that :P... when i have a fulltime job lmao

Just get the fx60 before you get a spouse! :hjy: I'm gonna have to work a few angles to get one of those puppies myself. :D

Then again the dual core s939 Opterons would clock just as high.

yea, i think im gonna wait for the m2, hopefully they wont be too expensive, but if they are theres gonna be a huge decrease in the price of X2's!!
