i have my port set on 9001 in azereus. and i have xp pro sp2 with firewall on. and it allows that port already. didn't need to forward on my router. and im not getting fast speed (anymore) so don't worry just gotta find a hot download i guess

I have tied many different ports but I still get the same results namely after about 20 minutes both my router and modem size up. I have a D-Link P704. In those 20 or so minutes the speeds still stay the same as if I hadn't tweeked the ports.

the problem here is cheaper routers can only handle about 256 conections at one time before going nuts and freezeing.
turn of any softeware fire walls.
set the router to the port wanted (high and odd number) (50021 is good)
limit the max number of global conection in azureus
to around 240 and upload to 75 with no more then four downloads.
under options/plugins in azureus turn off upnp.
in azureus under the tools tap you can check to see if you set the port right with the nat/firewall test.
theres a off chance that your doing the port forwarding wrong since dlinks can some times be alittle confuseing to do it too.
