When On-Line

I have high-speed Sympatico internet, no problems until I disconnect. After disconnecting, my modem lights still flicker as if I was downloading something even though I'm not and, even an hour after disconnecting they still flicker and my mouse is slow (real problem with mouse response time if I'm playing a game). Looks like I'm still on-line. Looks like there's something running but there are no scheduled tasks or applications running. Can't figure it out. I have to re-boot and everything's OK 'till I connect and disconnect to the internet again, then it starts all over again. Any suggestions?

Have you checked for spyware?

it's more than spyware .. sounds like a Trojan to me
go here and do an on-line scan
