View Full Version : Lost D/ drive

When I turned om my comp this morning, I tried to open My computer/D drive but got a message "go to control panel, configure systems components", I haven't changed anything, can aybody help me to "reset" the components so I can use my secondary drive "D" again, I only use it for back-up. thank you.

If you have important data on the harddrive then you will need some type of data/file recovery software/utility.

how many physical hard drives do you have?
how were they set up with or with out partitions.
if it is a single drive partitioned in to c: and D:
run scandisk in safe mode to see if it can fix the
problem.
also get the hard drive manufactures diagnostic
program and test the drives to see if there is a problem.

if you have two physical drives and drive two is your
d: drive do the same but also check the drive cable
and power connector.

also you should look at your bios settings to see if
all the drives are being detected.
