View Full Version : Msconfig
Hello all. I am trying to open "msconfig" in the run part of windows, and all I get is "windows cannot find msconfig" I have ran this program many times, and its got me stumped. Has anyone run into this problem, and if so how did you fix it.

You may want to do a virus scan and also a scan with CWshredder

Try LeeAnne's suggestion first, then, if it still doesn't work ....
Download here (http://www.techadvice.com/win2000/m/msconfig_w2k.htm) or here (http://www.perfectdrivers.com/howto/msconfig.html) and reinstall - might be an option. Could be corrupted by whatever.
How do I copy msconfig to C:\winnt\system32\ folder, and how do I find it. I am running windows XP. Thanks.

winnt?
Should be C:\Windows... for WindowsXP.
Unless OS in question, is Windows2000 Professional.
And that OS did not include MSCONFIG.
I still can't find the folder c:\winnt\system32 folder so I can copy msconfig. I've tried everything.

As shinma pointed out, there is no C:\winnt\ folder in XP.
Copy the file to C:\WINDOWS\system32
Thanks all, it works, up and running.
