off topic... how do you like your X2 3800+ jamie? Have you tried o/c'n yet?

My first run through, stock vidcard, cpu at 2400Mhz....

Will try later with my cards OC'd (can run them stable at 500/1375), but read from other forums that OCing the video makes little difference, probably due to cpu bottlenecking. I also found out that 3DMark06 totally takes advantage of dual core cpu's seeing as my cpu score beat out an FX-57. Last I checked an FX-57 at stock scored around 1060 (3DMark only ran cpu test 1 of 2).

Hey Jamie, where'd you get that RAM... I want some!!!

Hey buddy..:)

I love it encoding time is half what it used to be..
I was having alot of stability issues at first..
It was my PC4800 Platinum kit well 1 stick went bad..
So I RMA'd it and got 2GB Gold GX GTX in it's place, not to shaby of a deal..
Anyway back to topic..
I am very stable at the moment at.......
and a new 3Dmark score aswell......

Wow, that's what i call a great trade... Great CPU Score!!!! I guess you didn't have any compatibility issues with the XTC Ram and the A8N32 board eh??

I am absolutely happy with my gaming rig.... but i really havent' had time to sit down and play games on it cuz of work and my 360 (well , DOA4 and COD2 on XBOX Live). But I have started playing F.E.A.R. again and I just love the graphics. And yeah, dual core is definately awesome for encoding video.

So Jamie, that 700Gigs of space... is that mostly video encoding or what... what are you doing with all that space man!?!?

Yes I had an issue with the new ram aswell..
The first time I put it in it worked no problem, then th moment i would try to change anything ram related it would not boot..
Needed a jumper reset, that means pull out a 7800 and reset then put it back in..
Until I noticed the ram defaulted to stock settings 250MHz that was the problem..
Right now i'm playing around with 1T trying to get as high fsb as possible with 1T..
The 2500MHz is 2T
Right now i'm at 2300MHz 1T
This board has a zillion settings for ram in bios and evrything else aswell..
i'm keeping watch on other forums alot for info on this board..
The 700G is for alot of movies and storage of downloaded stuff..lol
I need to clean my 200G off, to a fresh start..
Just want to make sure this 250Gsata is holding windows properly..
I can run my 7800GT's at 430/1100 without any issues , not sure how much higher they will go..
I need to get another NV5 Silencer for my other 7800 man it makes the comp very quite..

I'm not sure that they actually KNOW if you've oc'ed the ram..
I buy ram that's meant for OC'ing an my 4800 was meant for DDR 600 ..
Why do you think you ram is (messed)??

My results (and the rig it was run on) is in my sig below. Not running SLI at the moment, but maybe eventually... pretty happy with the results so far though.

All results done with default settings, all tests, at 1024x768, no overclocking.

Because your Vcard does not support SM3.0 your card only supports SM2.0

My updated results and rig (running SLI) are in my sig, though one of my cards has recently since died (and BFG can't replace it because they don't make them anymore) so I'm in the process of acquiring a 7950GX2 to replace them. I'll have to post some results once I get it in a couple of weeks.

But BFG has a lifetime warranty??
Are you saying because they don't make them anymore, you are $crewed??

Sadly, yes. Their "lifetime warranty" isn't exactly what it's cracked up to be. If they no longer make the card you bought they won't upgrade you to the current equivalent model. Instead, they will offer a credit or refund in the amount of the current market value of the card (which according to them is C$430 for the card in my sig) but since I paid $630 for it back in January, lose $200 in the deal. Unfortunately I don't have a choice. I bought it through a friend's store though so he's taking care of everything for me. (Saves me the expense of having to ship it back to BFG myself) I'll be getting the 7950GX2 once his supplier can manage to get more in, but I'll have to kick in the difference.

It sucks but that's the way the market works unless you pay the bigger bucks to buy from a large chain that can afford suck up the loss on a free warranty-upgrade-to-current-model thing.

What would be the best way for me to test my system, I have a dual monitor setup, should I just leave it for the test? My vid card has dual DVI out, hence two monitors.

You have to manually enable the other tests in the settings. It doesn't perform them by default.

If I'm not mistaken it shouldn't make a difference, as 3dMark will use whatever resolution you have set in the settings (default is 1024x768 or 1280x1024) which will override your dual monitor resolution setting.
