Flash scene 1--2???

Hi

I'm working in Flash MX (newbie) and have completed a little movie.

I then decided to do a preloader and once I completed this PR, I tried to bring my movie into the preloader timeline--for some reason I can't import the movie so heres what I tried.

Both the movie and the preloader were created in 2 seperate files. I opened the preloader, created a scene 2 and tried to import my movie--didn't work. So then I opened my .fla movie, created another scene and tried importing my .fla preloader--didn't work.

How does one bring outside .fla movies/clips into a timeline outside of the resident file/timeline.

selct all frames > right click on frames > copy frames. in new fla select first keyframe (don't bother making new layers) and right click on the keyframe > paste frames.
done.

personally I'd just copy the preloader frames and place them in your movie after you've shifted it forward, and use a frame label to goto when it's loaded. Ditch the scene.
