Hi. Would like some help in finding a timed stop watch that matches E-bays time? Most of the time I bid on a item I get out bid with only a few seconds
left in the remaining bidding time by 50 cents above my top limit. Every time
I bid I am told you are the high bidder then with a few seconds left I am out did
and no time left to put in another bid. After a while it pisses me off....
Thanks for the help.

There are programs out there you can buy such as auction sentry, they sync your pc's time with ebay and then you set a snipe time. Whats happening to you is common, its called sniping. Somone enters the autcion number into the program, sets there max bid and sets it to place a bid with only 5 or 10 seconds (or whatever they want) left in the auction, this gives no one else a chance and placing a counter bid. You may feel its not fair, all I can tell you is, if you can't beat them, join them.

Here is a link to the software:

Not to sound cynical, but welcome to eBay, home of the sniper. Sniping is a big part of eBay for a lot of people. It helps keep prices down by not giving people a proxy to pick away at.

Basically you have two choices:

1. Bid what you're willing to pay and hope no one outbids you, or,
2. Get your bid in under 10 seconds -- 5 in you can manage. That's the way of the sniper.

There are programs out there that will snipe for you -- most of them cost money either for the software or a web-based subscription service. I still prefer to do it by hand, though.
