Hey everybody !
My kids sports have limited me to say 5-10 steps from cutting edge gameing lately ..."new video card+CPU >hockey for littleman ?money better spent, hockey first soon upgrade"
I'm bogging in games like F.E.A.R. on the higher settings can my old pals like LBJGH ect. have a peak at my rig (Sig) and give some suggestions AMD X2 or 7800 ,up to 2 gigs of GEIL ram ?
Thanx and Happy New Year

mostly likely its your videocard, everything else seems up to par, i wouldnt invest in X2 at the moment, AMD is going to release its new cpu technlology soon, so you will see a price decrease. Get a 7800, and wait on the cpu, you system is fine, just not the videocard!

F.E.A.R. is actually one of the games that is optimized for dual core processors however I think the video card upgrade would be a better choice. The new video card and the X2 are going to be around the same price.
IMO, the combination of a new video card and a little o/c out of your 3500+ would do the trick. My current x2 4200+ is just two 3500+ processors. I'm very sure you could get your cpu to 2.5-2.6ghz without any drama.
Try overclocking your cpu before dropping the money on a video card... your current system may just do the trick for now. :)
I'm able to run the game on my rig at 1024x768 at decent video quality and no studdering.

What res are you playing FEAR at..1280x1024??
If so try 1024x768 it would run alot better at that res for your system specs..
Also try a little OC like LBJGH said.......BUT imo a new Vcard would show the most increase..

upgrade Vcard, processor, memory to the max, latest and greatest, and if playing online, have fastest net connection available.
