Stargate the alliance cancelled

well months ago i reported that they were making this game , well iam back but this time with sad news they have cancelled the game there is no offical press release yet

but accroding to the offical forum there will be one soon

Can't believe I didn't notice this thread nor did I make one myself. I've been following the game a long time and this sucks.

There is a petition (http://www.petitiononline.com/SGTA/petition.html) with a crap load of sigs and there's a lot of angry people on many SG:TA forums, as well. They are planning many, better forms of protesting the games cancellation as the petition probably won't do much.

That's possible, and I would play a Stargate MMO for sure :) I hope it's good, but for some reason I doubt it.

But, The Alliance looked to be a great game with tons to do... Not to mention they were almost complete the game. Blah, I still hope they bring it out.

No, that couldn't happen. MMORPG is just a genre, a fairly new one. Lots of people don't even enjoy RPG's... If you take the amount of MMO's and compare that to any other genre you will see there are far less. Companies have to put a lot of time and money into an MMO.

i prefer the Fps genre was looking forward to SG:TA seemed like it was going to be cool , i don't mind the MMO's but i can't seem to get into them that much i played WOW but never really made me want to go out and spend the money to pick it up ,

Well, I haven't played an MMO since a lil' while after I started school this year and I miss them. But c'mon! It's Stargate! If you love SG you'll want a SG MMO regardless :P

it would a cool thing to see because they can move with the show and keep udating the game to keep up with the show, but i just can't see my self going out and buying this one i thought WOW was good but then other games came out and i never did go pick it up i feel this will probly happen with this one too

there are alot of posibilitys with this game.you might pick between human or asgard,ect...,you might take sg-1(most likely) and progress through the shows long history,maybe you'll get your own SG team(SG-456?),the posibilitys gone,online games are very open and there are lots of posibility's.the cool thing about this i,like nightwolf said,they can add to it as the show goes on.

the alliance looked like a great game,and i hope they send that out,or something similar.another thing that might be interesting would be a stargate RTS.there are enough races and gadgets form all the episodes to make a great RTS.

You wouldn't be able to be a member of SG-1, MMO's don't allow things like that. I'm guessing it will be a very shallow game that will either get canned or turn out like crap with nobody playing it. That doesn't mean we can't dream, though :)
