I just built a new computer today that I had been waiting to be shipped. When I go to install Windows, I get an error that I have tried looking up online but got no specific answers.

The error is:

IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
(The usual gibberish in between)
STOP: 0X0000000A (0X00000004, 0X00000002, 0X00000000, 0X804ED59F)

Here is the new hardware... you will understand when looking at the list of hardware why this makes me extremely frustrated...$$$$$

AMD Athlon 64 4000+
DFI Lanparty nF4 SLI-DR
BFG 7800GTX OC 256mb
2x512mb OCZ PC3200 Premier Series
160gb WD 7200rpm SATA
OCZ Modstream 520W PSU
and a bunch of other cards and accessories...

Please help asap. This is extremely frustrating and I have no idea what to do.

This is all I could find because the only information is in other languages. Maybe it will help.

"A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer.
IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
If this is the first time you've seen this stop error screen, restart your computer.
If this screen appears again, follow these steps:
Check to make sure any new hardware or software is properly installed.
If there is a new installation, ask your hardware or software manufacturer for any windows updates you might need.
If problems continue, disable or remove any newly installed hardware or software.
Disable BIOS memory options such as caching or shadowing.
If you need to use Safe Mode to remove or disable components, restart your computer,
press F8 to select Advanced Startup option, and then select Safe Mode.
Technical information:
***STOP: 0x0000000A (0x00000004, 0x00000002, 0x00000000, 0x804ED59F)"

Hi there...how about booting your system with only 1 stick of RAM. Your WD hard drive,,,I believe it should be jumperless(at least with IDE WD types). Is your WINDOWS install disk in good shape?(ie,,no scratches).

Have you tried running setup from the harddrive?

At what point during the installation does the error come up?

Check voltage and temperature readings in the BIOS settings, relax memory latency (advanced chipset settings), reseat everything, and run a memory testing utility. (memtest) You could also try clearing the CMOS memory with the jumper, and loading fail safe settings

Remove all unnecessary components.

Okay thanks guys, I'm trying a few things now. Also, I called OCZ because I am almost certain it's a RAM issue and the guy I talked to e-mailed me a list of settings, etc. that optimize my specific ram to this mobo.

I'll reply back here in a bit with what's going on...

You can always try one stick of ram at a time to rule out a bad stick.

It is in fact bad ram. I plan to RMA it and get new stuff.

Right now I threw in some other OCZ from my previous setup that should be alright until I get my new stuff.

Thanks for your help, guys. I'm glad it was just the RAM and not something that wouldn't be as easily dealt with. OCZ is great with their RMA services.

I'm just getting this puppy preped and ready for some hardcore gaming. Overclocking will begin when I get the other ram back :D
