Over the past wk I think I've only really been playing FNR3 on occasion, last night go to play NBA2k6 and the game locks up, ring of light stay green, but the game freezes with a bunch of vertical lines of small squares show up on screen. (I'm well-ventilated)
Called 1-8004MY-XBOX, CSR didn't troubleshoot the problem AT ALL, just registered me since I wasn't registered, and told me to expect the xbox coffin box to be sent to my monday or tuesday (we'll see...)..
Asked her if I could keep my HD for my save games and she said sure, so that's good....
oh well:ngf:, I think I'll be buying the extended warranty when I get my new boxs serial #, and if this takes some time demand an extension of my live service....

I think the 2nd time they offer you a game, controller or month of live for free.

mine's been working decent so far. but they seem to heat up real fast.

ive had a few issues where it would just take a long time to load so id have to turn it off.

Service has been good so far, got the "coffin" tuesday (2 business days from call). packed it up and got it to local purolator wed, but missed the guy, so it didn't get picked up till thu. Received email from MS saturday saying they received it and are fixing it... once fixed (replaced) they'll send it out and send me the purolator tracking #... From reports on xbox.com forums I'll probably get it this wk...

well thats not bad service :D...guy a i know from work had to send his in to be fixed, something like the disk tray wouldnt open, and it took him like 1 month and a bit to get it back.

Add mine to the same problem. The ring is still green, but the screen freezes with white vertical lines, all started after the last update. I have had it since day one, with not one problem. I downloaded the new March mandatory update and it freezes within 10 minutes of doing anything. Real typical Microsoft quality control

Just to update, I received my brand new xbox about 10 business days from when I sent it out. I actually received it BEFORE I got the email telling me to expect it! So all in all good service. They also extend your Live account for a month, supposedly if it happens again you get a free game???
BUT this remind me that I should really call up and get the extended warranty (another $60), might be money well spent in this case!

My son recently got 5 games from MS (he signed up for something at work for about $4.00 and had to pay $4.95 for shipping.) Turned out one of the game boxes, which was shrink wrapped, was missing the disk. He contacted them, and had a new one in about 3 days, by courier. Not bad service.

Its the least they should do for a 600 buck video game. If you check the forums at Xbox.com, you will see 40 or so pages of people with the same problems
