Meh...5 minutes. Just remember everything that the book has in it and you should be fine.

G1 is VERY easy. Most of it is common sense, If you pay attention when your parents drive you will learn a lot. Some questions I had were things like,

If your looking to make a right hand turn which lane should you been in. & of course you should be in the right lane. Just simple dump questions like that. & signs etc Took about 5-10min I think I ended up getting 1 wrong but thast because I was talking to my friend and pushed the wrong button.

This is the G1 EXIT test. I already got my G1 8 months ago. This is the road test that determines if you get your G2.

Ahh sorry never heard of the g2 being called that. In taht case. They tested me on all parking ways,3 point turn, parking on hills, checking blind spots on turns (very important), make sure your looking at your rear view mirrior every 3 or 5sec forget how often.

    Good Luck

If you do that...your eyes are diverted from whats going on in front of you...sorry... but I for one need to see where I am going and whats happening in front of me or beside me, not what is gonna rear-end me. Mirrors are very important...agreed but to be checking the rearview every 3-5 seconds? can we say whiplash? I would rather be paying attention to whats stopping in front of me and keeping my eyes on the road then what I have already passed by. Tests may have changed over the years, but an occasional glance in the rear view depending on traffic flow and lane changing ...etc... should be sufficient. Sure, if you are going to change lanes, briefly check your rear and side mirrors for cars, signal if all looks clear, blindspot check and move over into the next lane when the path is clear without cutting off others. Just my opinion that has worked for...ohh say 20+ years...we wont say exactly how many.
Wouldn't it be nice if whenever we messed up our life we could simply press 'Ctrl Alt Delete' and start all over?

Try to do a test drive around the area of your testcentre. They won't fail you for simple mistakes. MAKE SURE YOU KEEP YOUR SPEED!!! I can't stress that enough. Practice for a couple hours before doing the test to help you relax.

Good luck, and which centre are you going to?

Oh I agree with you 100% but thats what the instructor told me, to check I think it was every 5sec or so. I had no choice if i wanted to pass the test.

Careful, some of them want you to keep up with traffic. That is a really grey area.

It really depends on your tester. I had one tester in London that was realllly bad. Anyways, keep the pace with traffic, but don't go over the speed limit.

Then be prepared to get run off the road.

Perhaps, but if you go over the speed limit repeatedly you will fail.

It was. She failed me and I went back a week later (whatever the minimum period is) got a different guy and passed without problems.

They'll likely test you on stop signs, parallel parking, parking in forwards or backwards, switching lanes, parking at the side of the road and pretending that you're on an uphill/downhill (or they might actually take you to a hill if one is nearby), three point turns, and that's all I can remember.

Now I'm getting them mixed up :P.

G2 exit they take you on the highway. G1 exit is basically a 5 to 10 minute drive and that's it. Usually very quick.

Messed up a left turn because some dumbass woman decided to wait until I starting turning to cross the intersection. Im going back next month to hopefully get another tester. Lots of people failed because of others mistakes. The guy told me to pull over on the road to park the car. He then asked me why I didnt turn my wheels for "uphill parking". It was not even a slope, and the guy should tell me if he wants to me PARK the car. He just said pull over. I didnt know if he was just going to talk to me or if i actually had to park.

You're too new a driver to have inherited the right to call another driver "dumbass".

Young'ns are the worst "dumbass" drivers of all

I'm not saying you're one of them Carz, but at your tender age, I thought the same way too.

The next time I take the test I will say I want SPECIFIC instruction. Not just park the car. Tell me where, should I do uphill or downhill (unless its OBVIOUS, unlike today).

Sometimes they are real jerks, try and make the appointment either first thing or close to it. That way they wont want to just fail you so they can go home lol

There is a myth that you don't do it towards the end of the month. Something about a quota to be met.

And pedestrians have a mind of their own. I've seen too many pedestrian idiots who will walk slowly across a crosswalk when the opposing traffic already has green.

    Yep.

Those people have control issues, and should be run over at every opportunity.

But for the purposes of this discussion, you have to allow for them to make their move BEFORE you make yours.
