Thread: windows media player

    Default windows media player

I just installed xp in a very old MDG machine the install went fine the only hitch is windows media player. it say welcome to wmp 11 and opens the first install window which gives you the option of express or custom settings, then thats it there's nothing further no next button or anything.

Is it possible version 11 wont load on this dinosaur. could I try to d/l a earlier version and put it on a thumbdrive to transfer it over. The old machine is not going onliine. Would winamp be a better candidate

Also one more question, I have a thumbdrive I.m sure has a virus on it, if I format it in windows will it be okay? Clean?

    thanks

winamp is alright for music, but for video I would prefer media player. I would also recommend VLC

media player 11 works on my sisters xp he computer. you need to install the service packs first. eg. from windows update. after you install the service packs, in media player, click help then click check for player updates. if that doesn't work try this. media player 11 for windows xp.
