I didn't take the thread off topic. the problem with the lg cd/dvd drives not working only happened after the installation of windows 8 release preview.

its too bad that they didn't upgrade to media player 13. are they going to upgrade to media player 13? can media player 12 play, rip, and burn dvds? I can't get it to do any of those things.

my dvd player still does not work in windows 8,if I switch back to my windows 7 hard drive in the bios it works great,no easy fix so far

I have also noticed that the flash player doesn't work properly with the tile version of internet explorer.
